Hi, I’m Lyss
a certified trauma-TRAINED SOMATIC PRACTITIONER!
But first and foremost, I’m a human who has experienced chronic stress, burnout, crippling anxiety, chronic pain, workaholism, trauma, and substance abuse first-hand, and have dedicated the last decade of my life to healing through nutrition, bottom-up healing, breathwork, somatics, and meditation. These practices have absolutely changed my life and how I relate to stress/trauma, and I’ve seen them change the lives of all my clients. It’s truly a gift to watch others come back home to themselves; their power, their confidence, their raw human experience.
I’ve professionally trained with The Embody Lab, The Nervous System School, Pause Breathwork, and currently, Somatic Experiencing International (a world-renowned somatic trauma resolution modality developed by Dr. Peter Levine). My teachings are based in science, with an emphasis on polyvagal theory, intuitive awareness, and nervous system attunement.
I help my clients heal their relationship to stress and build nervous system capacity and resilience; rather than allowing stress and trauma to run your life, I provide the tools and support to help you navigate and work with your stress and naturally complete/renegotiate trauma responses over time (in the body), creating more space for joy, creativity, ease, connection & confidence.

Every person is unique, so I make sure each session is specially designed for you; your needs, your cycles/rhythms, your boundaries, and where you want this work to take you! We start slow (titration) and build up over time; incorporating movement, nervous system, somatic, breathwork, and cognitive practices for lasting transformation.
Healing doesn’t happen through force—it happens through presence, attunement, and creating safety in the body to be with the full range of our experiences. My approach is rooted in honoring where you are, working collaboratively with your nervous system, helping you build capacity and resilience, and slowly completing stress cycles (in the body) that didn’t get to complete in the past. Here’s how we’ll navigate this journey together:
My APPROACH
MEET:
We begin by creating space for your experience, exactly as it is. Together, we’ll get curious about what’s showing up in your body and explore the signals your nervous system is sending; meeting sensations bit by bit. It’s about listening, honoring your system’s protective responses, and validating the wisdom in how your body has learned to keep you safe all this time.
ATTUNE:
We focus on building trust—both with your body and with the process. Using trauma-informed somatic tools, we’ll gently explore ways to regulate your nervous system and support the completion of stuck stress cycles. I combine modalities like Somatic Experiencing, Somatic Release, Somatic Parts Work, Breathwork, and Polyvagal Theory-Based Practices.
HEAL:
Healing isn’t about fixing; it’s about creating the environment where your system feels safe enough to soften and begin to shift naturally. It’s about growing your capacity to be in the ebbs and flows of live—both the difficult and the joyful. It’s about supporting your nervous system in building resilience and finding ways to invite in more safety, regulation, connection & ease.
-
I deeply value creating a space where every part of you is welcome, including resistance, overwhelm, or uncertainty. Together, we’ll gently explore what’s arising without judgment, moving at a pace that feels safe and supportive for your system. Healing doesn’t come from forcing change but from cultivating trust in the wisdom of your body.

One reason trauma keeps us stuck is the experience of isolation that so often accompanies it. Trauma isn’t just about what happened; it’s about what was missing—an empathetic witness. Without someone there to see us, hold space for us, and help us process what we’ve been through, the pain and overwhelm of those moments can feel like they freeze in time, remaining unresolved in our bodies.
Healing is the process of renegotiating that aloneness. It’s about stepping into an experience of being met and understood with compassion, care, and attunement. This is why a core value of my work is being a loving witness for my clients. I deeply believe that healing begins when we feel seen and supported—when someone holds space for every part of us, not to fix or change, but to offer presence and understanding. This is how defenses can begin to soften.
-
There is no part of you that is broken. Every survival response—whether it’s freeze, fight, flight, or fawn—has been your body’s way of protecting you and trying to keep you safe. I value creating space to honor these protective mechanisms, seeing them not as obstacles but as intelligent responses to the challenges you’ve faced. Healing comes from understanding and working with these patterns, not against them.
-
I believe in honoring the pace of your nervous system, never pushing or rushing the process. A trauma-informed approach means creating a space where you feel deeply respected, safe, and empowered to move at your own speed. Together, we’ll work gently and intentionally, allowing the layers of healing to unfold in a way that feels sustainable, supportive, and aligned with your unique nervous system.
-
Trauma can take away our sense of choice, leaving us feeling disconnected from the natural rhythms of our body. A central part of healing is coming back into contact with our body's wisdom—learning to listen to the subtle cues that guide us toward what feels like a “yes” and what feels like a “no.” By reconnecting with these internal signals, we reclaim our agency, empowering ourselves to make choices that honor our boundaries, needs, and true desires. This process helps us rebuild a felt sense of trust in our body’s wisdom.
